# E_AUTH_PARSE

> Manifest and lockfile error reported by akua pkg

An `--auth <prefix>=<user>:<password>` value or an `--auth-file` TOML payload did not parse. Distinct from `E_INVALID_FLAG` so callers can branch on credential input specifically.

## How to fix it

Each `--auth` value is one credential, keyed by URL prefix; repeat the flag for more hosts:

```sh theme={null}
akua pkg vendor add upstream --auth github.com/myco=alice:$GH_TOKEN
```

An `--auth-file` holds the same credentials under an `[auth]` table. Flag values override file entries for the same prefix:

```toml theme={null}
[auth]
"github.com/myco" = { username = "alice", password = "<token>" }
```

## Shape

```json theme={null}
{
  "level": "error",
  "code": "E_AUTH_PARSE",
  "message": "...",
  "docs": "https://cli.akua.dev/errors/E_AUTH_PARSE"
}
```
