# akua pkg init

> Scaffold a new Package

```sh theme={null}
akua pkg init [flags] [<name>]
```

| Argument | Required | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `<name>` | no | Name for the new Package, and the directory created for it; absent, the current directory and its basename |

| Flag | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `--force` | boolean | Overwrite existing scaffold files instead of aborting |

Every command also accepts the [universal flags](/akua/cli#universal-flags).
